The REXUS (Rocket EXperiments for University Students) and BEXUS (Balloon EXperiments for University Students) programme allows students in Germany and Europe every year to fly their own scientific and technical experiments on ballistic rockets and high altitude balloons!
Apply Now!!
DLR and ESA have announced the opportunity for the next campaign and experiment proposals can be submitted until 24 October 2010. All you need is a team and an experiment idea, e.g. on atmospheric physics, microgravity or technology demonstration. The idea has to be briefly formulated for the initial proposal. ( www.rexusbexus.net )
What comes next?
The experiments will be selected until end of the year, and then have about another year to plan and to build. In between, there are regular reviews and workshops with experts, e.g. at the rocket launch range in Kiruna, Sweden. Besides the technical challenge, you also learn project and time management as well as find a lot of international contacts. You are doing everything yourself, from concept to launch, a great experience for the future. And it is a lot of fun!!
